Let Him Play

Show your husband how much you appreciate him this Father's Day!

By Lindsay Finger, Macaroni Kid Beaufort-Hilton Head Island June 9, 2021

“I haven’t posted a score yet this year.”

Has anyone else heard this lately? I hear it quite often in our household and normally I roll my eyes, giggle and say “there are a lot of things that I haven’t done this year either.”

We welcomed our 2nd child into this world in 2020. The timing was right in the middle of a global pandemic, I was working from home and my husband started a new job with demanding hours. To say it was a crazy time is an understatement. By the way, why does no one tell you that going from 1-2 is WAY harder than 0-1?

The last 10 months have been a blur filled with baby cuddles, toddler tantrums and unforgettable family time. The last 10 months has also led to very little “me” time for both my husband and I. Who else can relate?

Unless your birthday falls on Father’s Day/Mother’s Day, we each get two days a year to be selfish, to do something for yourself. Our time to shine!  This father’s day weekend, let him play. No questions asked. Let HIM decide how to spend the weekend. Tell HIM how much you appreciate him. He really deserves it, I promise.

To all the dads out there, we appreciate you and everything you do for your family. To my husband, I wouldn’t want to experience life with anyone else. Thank you for being our rock. I hope you post a low score on June 20 :).

Top 5 Best Golf Courses You Can Play in Beaufort County (and they are kid friendly too!):

1. Harbour Town Golf Links (Sea Pines, HHI)

Home to the RBC Heritage. Green fees are pricey, but for the golf fanatic this is a MUST PLAY bucket list item. Juniors 17 and under receive 50 percent off rates when accompanied by an adult. I promise you, this course is not overrated. It’s really a treat to play. Tee times can be made online by clicking here.

2. The Legends at Parris Island (Parris Island Marine Base, Beaufort)

The website says it best “There is no other golf course like the Legends.” If I lived in Beaufort, I would play here on a regular basis. This is a fun track that is very enjoyable for the average golfer. Beaufort County residents can play for $40 (includes cart) and they have great junior rates too.

3. Old South Golf Links (50 Buckingham Plantation Drive, Bluffton)

A great golf course with beautiful marsh views. Voted “Favorite Private Golf Course” by locals 12 times since 2008.  Beaufort County full time residents can play for $52 plus tax. Junior rates and family friendly tee options. Don’t tell Harbour Town, but this may be one of my favorite public courses in the area. Tee times can be made by clicking here

4. Crescent Pointe (1 Crescent Point Drive, Bluffton)
An Arnold Palmer Signature Course with magnificent Oak Trees and beautiful views. Beaufort County residents discounts available! Tee times can be made by
