Holiday Light Displays and Lighting Ceremonies

Christmas and Holiday Events in Beaufort, Bluffton and Hilton Head

December, 2016- One of my favorite things about the holidays, and specifically Christmas, are the light displays and Tree Lighting Ceremonies. I just think it adds something special to the magic of the season. I have a list here of local Tree Lighting Ceremonies and light displays all over Beaufort, Bluffton and Hilton Head. If you know about one I missed, please send me an email, I will updated it. Because there is no such thing as too many lights!

Saturday, November 19- January 1st - "Dove Street Lights" at Shelter Cove
Enjoy the "Dove Street lights" in their new location at Shelter Cove Town Center.  Park your car and stroll through this beautiful light display featuring over 75,000 lights! The kids will love the “snow” falling (bubbles). Donations for Deep Well and Programs for Exceptional People will be accepted.

 

    Where: Shelter Cove Lane, Hilton Head

    When: Nightly

Tuesday, November 29th through January 1st- Harbour Town Lights
Enjoy a Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 29th just before the Gregg Russel Concert gets underway at 7:30pm at the Liberty Oak Stage in Harbour Town. Bring a canned good or new unwrapped toy for Deep Well. Events and entertainment round out the weekend in addition to the Holiday light display. After the Tree Lighting Ceremony and other activities this weekend, the lights will stay up through December.

 

     Where: Harbour Town in Sea Pines Plantation, Hilton Head

 

    When: 7:00 PM Concert at 7:30pm

    Who: For the whole family

    Cost: The event is free, but there is a $6 Gate Fee to enter Sea Pines Plantation.

 

December - The end of the year. "Hilton Head Island Lights" at Firestation #3
This display is at the top of our list this year. When you stop by, be sure to thank the Firefighters, EMT's and Paramedics who work hard not only to keep the community safe, but who also generously give their time to create this beautiful display. The firefighters are still seeking donations of lights and decorations to keep the display going strong each year.

 

    Where: Fire Station #3, Hilton Head. Located at 534 William Hilton Parkway

Friday, December 2nd- Bluffton Christmas Tree Lighting
Christmas Tree Lighting will be at the Bluffton Town Hall (20 Bridge St., Bluffton) from 5pm-6:30. The grand Marshall for the parade will be announced, plus enjoy a performance from the M.C. Riley Chorus and a visit from Santa!- Don't forget the next morning there will be a Christmas Parade through downtown Bluffton. Streets close at 8am and the parade begins at 10am on December 3rd.

Friday, December 2nd- A Night on The Town
Celebrate the start of the Holiday Season with the 29th Annual Night on The Town on Bay Street Beaufort and Freedom Park. Enjoy special treats from local merchants as you discover fantastic gift ideas. The event promotes local small businesses and the "Buy Local" movement. There will also be a Tree Lighting Ceremony in Freedom Park with entertainment by local choirs, clubs and dance groups.

Saturday, December 3rd- Light Up The Night Holiday Boat Parade
Kick off the Holiday Season with this fun and festive tradition. Kids of all ages will love watching a water parade of glowing decorated boats along the sea wall at Waterfront Park.

    When: 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
